As part of our goal this year to transform workplaces and parenting, we are reigniting our Parento Deep Dive series. Initially launched in 2022 and spanning six episodes, our Deep Dive series is a live, candid chat hosted on Instagram that spotlights one important topic in the paid parental leave landscape. Previous topics have included navigating the complicated landscape of state benefit programs; the reversal of Roe. v. Wade and its implications for female autonomy and independence; financing parenthood; and the maternal health crisis.

Deep Dive Revival with Parent Experience

We are enthusiastically reviving our series, to be hosted by Amanda Hemm, our inaugural Director of Parent Experience. Amanda is not only a staunch advocate for paid parental leave, she is also an expert parent coach and experienced postpartum doula, having supported birthing parents in the intimate weeks and months after birth for over eight years. Her invaluable experience brings a holistic, person-first lens to these conversations as someone who works to empower parents through some of their most challenging days. You can learn more about Amanda’s background in parent coaching here

Each month’s theme will invite guest speakers in unscripted and live casual conversations.

We hope to empower our community, especially working parents and marginalized parenting groups, to champion for their workplace rights, create more equitable policies that support all families, and leave informed on paid parental leave.

Inviting Community into the Conversation

HR decision makers, parents, business leaders, benefit brokers, and other advocates for equitable parenting and workplace support are invited to join our series. In order for workplaces to see meaningful policy reformation, it is critical that all stakeholders are invited to the conversation and take a seat at the table.

We invite everyone to join our series on Instagram. Below is the series breakdown through April 2024:

January: Amanda will be joined by Tiarra Hamlett, Parento’s Director of Marketing and a proud working mother. Both Amanda and Tiarra will summarize the paid parental leave landscape, what’s catching their eye, trends they’re looking at, and how they manage work and motherhood.

February: this month will explore the Parent to Champion roadmap, and outline strategies for parents to become advocates for paid maternity and paternity leave at work. Parents are the largest workforce group, wielding power in numbers. Amanda and her guest speaker will also break down workplace retaliation, and common hesitations from senior leadership to pass new policies and programs.

March: motherhood is tough, and exacerbated by a lack of supportive social infrastructure. From the ongoing Childcare Crisis to return-to-office mandates, we’ll explore why the system is rigged against working mothers.

April: this month will explore Healthy Parenting, both for child and parent. In a world saturated with mominfluencers and perfect families (and children) online, it’s easy to place the comparison game. Our expert parent coaches will break down how to find a parenting style that works for you, how to build confidence in your parenting, and more.
